One of the most popular bullion coins in the United States is the 1 oz. American Gold Eagle. It was introduced by the US government Mint in 1986 in four sizes,1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz. The United States government guarantees that the coins contain the declared amount of actual gold weight in troy ounces.

The US government Mint used the Roman Numerals to date the coins from 1986 till 1991. In later years, from 1992 to present, traditional 1 oz. American Gold Eagle coins are dated by Arabic Numerals. Being a trusted U.S. Gold Dealer, Gold Goliath offers a wide variety of American Gold Eagle series coins in all sizes.

The bullion coins are sought after by collectors but also attract investors as the preferred gold coin choice in America. The obverse of the coin, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, displays a depiction of the statue of liberty while the reverse, designed by sculptor Miley Busiek, has an eagle soaring above a nest. On the top arc of the coin is inscribed, United States of America. E Pluribus Unum (one from many) is on the left and In God We Trust on the right. The bottom arc of coin contains the weight (1 oz fine gold) and price 50 Dollars.

Investors and collectors can obtain the American Gold Eagle in mint condition for their collections. The legal tender of the 1 oz. American Gold Eagle coin has been placed at $50 and is largely symbolic.

The series of gold coins are available in multiples of 20 packed in mint tubes as well as multiples of 500 packed in “Monster Boxes.” All other coins are available in protective plastic flips.

Some of the notable features of 1 oz. American Gold Eagle are summed up as below:
