Updated 12:15 pm CST. We hate to say we told you so, but we told you so. Only a couple of hours later and the Fed has it under control; sort of.
Gold prices are up in early Monday trading hitting a six week high as global stock markets get pummeled. The Dow fell by more than 1000 points at today’s opening. Gold last reported a.m. is $1166.80 and silver is $14.96.
Being dubbed, “Black Monday,” China’s Shanghai Composite fell 8.5 percent overnight. The index dropped more than 10% last week after manufacturing data reinforced concerns the world’s second-largest economy was undergoing a tremendous downturn.
Global stock markets followed suit as Germany’s DAX, France’s CAC 40, and the FTSE 100 in London plummeted more than 4%, as Japan’s Nikkei fell 4.6%.
The S&P Futures were halted for the first time in history as the Dow fell 1000 points from Friday’s close. The Dow was 668 points, or 4.1 percent, lower as of 9:57 a.m. Eastern time. The S&P 500 index dropped 81 points, or 4.2 percent, to 1,889. The Nasdaq composite dropped 211 points, or 4.4 percent, to 4,496 points.
Is this the tremor that leads the world into chaotic darkness, in September as many predict? We don’t buy the hype though it’s unpopular to speak against doom and gloom prophets; especially in the precious metals industry.
Central banks have enough arsenal to continue their market scams for years to come and our belief is they aren’t finished gaming the system.
Those individuals who make a living out of “setting dates” usually end of recanting after the fact, and go on to set another date.
Of course the stock markets are rigged but this has always been the case. Regardless of what happens today, tomorrow, or during the Great Depression, gold and silver still retain their place of prominence as insurance against total loss.
There is a very good reason central banks and governments trust gold and silver. Even they have no trust in their own stock markets or currencies.
